NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION SYSTEMS RESEARCH GRANT
The PRAIRIE Group is the recipient of a two-year (2007-2008) National Science Foundation “systems research” grant. The research focuses on the systemic reform of math and science education in Chicago from 2002 through 2007. This project engages a research team that includes faculty and educators for UIC, Loyola University Chicago, and the Chicago Public Schools.
Year 1
In the first year we analyzed qualitative and quantitative longitudinal empirical data documenting Chicago reform initiatives during the stages of design, planning, and initial implementation through scale up and adaptation.
Year 2
In the second year of the project, we share findings in a White Paper with additional practitioners and researchers who will be engaged to actively collaborate on shaping the next steps for research and action.
